Fisho Mane!

Yup… Sadly, I am afraid that this blog has been neglected. I just haven’t been coming up with new content to put on here. My last post on here was back in March. I haven’t been shooting stuff as much as I was before, which really disheartens me. I don’t know what it is. I can sit here and think of a million different excuses as to why, but we are just going to completely take accountability for my lack of. With all that shit aside, lets get in to this week’s post.

Last Friday my cousin asked me to go out to shoot him fishing. My cousin is the proud owner and creator of the clothing line “Fisho Mane”. The brand is basically streetwear designed with fishing in mind. Check it out and support the brand here.

The vision for the shoot was just to capture him in action trying to catch a fish with the sunsetting. We were successful with one of the two, which was capturing the photos. Unfortunately there wasn’t any bites and didn’t catch any fish. To get to this secret spot, it required a mild hike down the side of a cliff. If you know me, then you know that I am not the most graceful nor have the best balance. So, there was a chance I could have fallen off to my demise with ALL my camera gear. The tide was high and pretty choppy that night. I was running a HIGH risk of being taken in by the waves and totally ruining all my gear also. I am so glad that I brought my other lens, so I could snap the photos a bit further back in distance from the waves.

The lighting from the sunset was phenomenal. I am really proud of how the sky came out on these photos. Also, it was a good thing that I had my 35mm lens with me, because it was fast enough to catch the crashing waves. If I stuck with using my favorite 16mm lens, it would be too slow to catch the motion of the waves, because it is a little outdated. But, still nonetheless, the 16mm is my favorite lens. Lastly, processing these photos in post production helped accentuate the colors of the sunset even more. Post production, especially the color grading of your photos is VERY important in finishing your photos. If you don’t do any color grading, especially if you shoot RAW, you would not be able to achieve getting vibrant colors in your photos. So, if you shoot RAW, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE color grade your photos.

Aright, let’s wrap this up and get to the photos. ‘Til the next one, enjoy.
